I was raised in a Christian home…Southern Baptist during the school year and Methodist during the summers. Missing Church and Sunday School was not an option. I spent about about one and a half years in Venezuela during elementary School.
I became a short term missionary starting in Mexico in the 1990s continuing into the 2000’s when I moved to Columbus, Texas. I met Brenda in 2005 when she came to the First Baptist Church of Columbus. In 2007, I was convicted of a need in Mozambique. I made my first trip to Mozambique in May of 2007 for three months. I learned about storing food–about 420 tons of it and making bricks. In 2009, I made a Church building trip to Canada, then in 2011, I returned to Mozambique in January for three months–distributing food this time.
My primary concern is evangelism and discipling new believers. Orphans Unlimited provides a wonderful example of God’s love working through Christians in Mozambique.
My favorite scriptures are James 1:22 through James 2:26. Brenda is one tough lady who knows and shows God’s power and protection and she is the energizer bunny–runs on less sleep than anyone I know.
