AMAZING RESULTS: THE HARD FACTS AS OF 2012
Before we came to Balama County in 1999, an average of six children were dying per week in many villages of 5,000 people or more. Now, because of Orphans Unlimited, the child mortality rate is only about one child every 3 months.
Our 2012 program provides life sustaining help and education to over 1,800 orphans and widows in Mozambique.
• 86 orphans who have NO existing family able to care for them, live in our 19 foster care homes next door to our Balama mission station
• 150 + grandmothers or aunts with orphaned babies as well as mothers who failed to produce breast milk after the birth of their infant, totally rely on our weekly baby formula give out to keep their babies alive.
• Over 1,730 orphans living with a grandmother or aunt totally depend on our monthly food give outs, clothing, and school materials.
WE BRING HOPE AND LOVE TO THESE CHILDREN, SHOWING THEM THAT JESUS REALLY DOES CARE ABOUT EACH OF THEM.
In 2012, over 20 of our children have graduated from the 10th grade, the highest education provided in Mozambique.
3 have become Youth Pastors, graduating Bible School
2 became carpenters and another is learning basic home construction
The others moved back to their home villages to build a life there.
This is only made possible through your help. Together, we can make a difference in the life of one child. For only $30.00 per month, an orphan receives: 3 high protein meals per day, a Christian education, clothing 4 times per year, a new warm blanket annually, and medical care. Please consider partnering with us in saving the life of one child.
