HARVEST TIME IN BALAMA
To reap a harvest you have to plant seeds. All year, our pastors "planted seed" (God's Word) into the lives of the 611 orphans & their foster parents who came to the Mavala Food distribution. In early December, the harvest looked a little bleak as few had come forth during this year to receive Jesus. But the Lord had a surprise for all of us.
BLANKETS & CLOTHES FOR MAVALA
A church in PA gave a very generous donation of blankets & clothing for all the kids in the Mavala program (8 villages). In mid December, we called in
1 or 2 villages at a time to receive their gifts, which kept the groups small & "personal". These kids have never had a blanket or new clothes. The smiles on their faces were a marvel to see.
AT THE SAME TIME WE DEMONSTRATED "PUR"
PUR is a water purification powder that makes dirty water as safe to drink as bottled water in 20 minutes. To stop making more orphans, we aim to bring clean water to the villages. Preventing the death of mothers & children from diarrhea is much better than taking care of the orphans who get left behind.
Pure Compassion Ministries donated 113,000 packets of PUR to Orphans Unlimited this year to help us "break the chain of death due to diarrhea".
Each packet cleans 10 liters of water.
JESUS, THE LIVING WATER
PUR DEMONSTRATED: The villagers watched excitedly as I stirred in the PUR powder, comparing the dirty water to a life of sin. I explained that the PUR acts on the water just like Jesus acts on our lives. He comes into our life to PURIFY us, & take away the dirt, leaving us clean & forgiven of our sins. While the people listened, they watched the dirty water suddenly become crystal clear as all the dirt fell to the bottom of the bucket!
A SIMPLE OBJECT LESSON OPENED THEIR EYES. Over 240 adults & teenagers dedicated their life to Christ in a week's time! Seeing a harvest of that magnitude brings true joy in our hearts!
Pastor Antonio, a member of our Bush Biker's for Christ team, volunteered to start a church in that area.
On December 27th, we moved him, his wife & 2 children into a house with a huge Mango tree in it's yard. That tree will serve as a temporary church until we can build one in May, 2008. The daily rains make construction almost impossible at this time.
WE PRAISE THE LORD FOR HIS TIMING & HIS BLESSINGS AS WE LEAD THE MULTITUDES TO KNOW MORE ABOUT HIS TRUE LOVE IN 2008.
WATER WELL EQUIPMENT ARRIVES
IN MOZAMBIQUE AT LAST! Water well drilling to begin as soon as the rains stop in March.
BUSH BUNNY ON HER WAY TO THE USA
I'm leaving Mozambique on January 8th, headed to Argentina to speak at 2 churches.
I'll arrive in the USA on Jan. 21st. Hope to see many of you during this tour!
