JESUS DREAMS DRAW MUSLIMS TO CHRIST
God kicked off a WAVE OF SALVATIONS by healing an Islamic leader. JOEL 2:28
states: (In the end times)
“I will pour out my spirit on ALL people, your sons and daughters will
prophesy, your OLD MEN will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.” (emphasis
mine). The story of “Paulo” is incredible, but its FRUIT proves
that it is VERY REAL. (names and places changed to protect these believers)
On Sept. 27th, Paulo, an educated Islamic leader, came to our church and confessed
Christ after having a Jesus Dream.
On Oct. 11th, I invited Paulo to tell his powerful story in the remote village
(pop. 3000), where we had planted a “Cashew Tree church” on Sept.
28th. FIFTEEN MEN, including two (2) village leaders, agreed to hear Paulo’s
story. Since Paulo was once an Islamic leader, these men respected him. Ninety
minutes later, those 15 men saw the truth about Jesus and confessed him as
their Lord & Savior. In my twenty (20) years in Africa, I've never heard
a Mozambican give such a powerful testimony, and NEVER seen men respond with
such sincerity so quickly.
The church is growing weekly thanks to the love gifts of NEW LIFE CHURCH in
Muskegon, MI who adopted this village as their mission outreach. As of Oct.
25th, these men started bringing their wives. New salvations now total twenty-one
(21) men and fourteen (14) women with sixty plus (60+) children attending regularly.
Carlitos, our youth leader, meets daily with the children, teaching Bible stories
and holding soccer games. God’s love is drawing them to Christ.
Pauloʼs story:
HIT BY LIGHTENING four (4) years ago, Paulo awoke in critical condition in
the Pemba hospital. After a slow recovery, he was left with permanent nerve
damage to his hands and arms. His hands shook when eating with a spoon and
he couldn’t extend his arms at the elbows. His days as a carpenter and
bricklayer were over.
Someone advised him to try a witch doctor. After twenty-seven (27) witch doctors
he was out of money and had lost hope. A friend told him about a powerful witchdoctor
in our area. That night Paulo had a “dream” that he couldn’t
understand nor forget. He saw many men running to kill him with machetes and
knives. A big man stood over him with his arms outstretched as if to protect
him. A group of large angels surrounded Paulo and this big man. Only later
would he come to understand this dream.
Walking straight to this witch doctor’s hut, he received a treatment
of worthless cream smeared on his hands. The witchdoctor demanded $32. When
Paulo couldn’t pay, the witch doctor seized his small suitcase containing
all he owned. He was told pay up or lose it.
In Moz. you’re an old man at 38. At age fifty-five (55), with disabled
hands and weak from malnutrition, Paulo had no choice but to walk away. (He
now has his suitcase). The 2nd dream occurred that very night as he slept in
a hut near our church. In this dream, he heard a man say: “Paulo, Paulo
why don’t you believe in Jesus? You can go to every witchdoctor in the
world, but you will not be healed. Your body belongs to Jesus. Go to church
and you will be healed.” The next day, Paulo told our entire congregation
that as he set foot inside our church, the pain in his hands that had tormented
him for 4 years suddenly STOPPED!
He then told us about his “Jesus Dream”. Paulo gave his life to
Jesus, and received prayer for healing. His other disabilities didn’t
resolve at that moment. (weak hands, a burning pain in his forearms, and inability
to extend his elbows). That very night, he awoke at midnight to find himself
completely healed!
On Monday morning he came to our mission to show us his “new hands”.
He immediately asked for work because he was hungry, and had nothing but the
clothes on his back. We fed him and sent him home with food and a local bed.
It was obvious that God had a calling on this man’s life, but it was,
also, obvious he had to regain his strength. Three days later he was greatly
recovered, and the Lord had shown me to teach him God’s Word as Paulo
is called to evangelize.
Since his healing, Paulo has been bubbling over with “JESUS JOY”.
He is a natural speaker with a boldness that touches the lives of all who hear
it. Studying the Bible three (3) hours a day under our Pastors, Paulo is becoming
a powerful man of God. His only request after a week of study was for a pair
of shoes (he’d sold his for food) and a bicycle so he could travel and
preach Jesus. God gave him much more. A miracle healing and a new purpose for
his life.
Just as Saul became Paul, this is JUST THE BEGINNING of God’s plan for
this modern day “Paul”.
GENONO WATCHES FOR THE GOD PEOPLE
Genono is the oldest man (over 60) to come to our first meeting of the Cashew
Nut Tree. Before hearing”
Paulo’s” testimony, Genono told us he needed help as his body didn’t
work anymore. Severely emaciated and anemic, we asked Jesus to renew his s
t rengt h . Aft e r hear ing Paulo’s testimony that day, Genono asked
Jesus into his heart. We took food to his house and met his wife and six (6)
children. His wife was sick, and their three (3) young teenagers had no hoes
for farming. Their only food was a few roots and ears of corn that neighbors
had donated. The kids were begging food at other houses.
This family now receives food weekly from us. The three (3) teenagers cleared
the church area of grass in exchange for three (3) hoes and the seed they needed
to plant their parents’
field next month. It’s a real testimony to this village that Jesus brings
NEW LIFE to those who accept HIS LOVE. During that home visit, Genono told
us about a vision his daughter had in 2008. During the night she saw what looked
like a “white airplane” descend over her father’s mud hut
. Thi s
“ a i r pl ane ” ILLUMINATED THE ENTIRE AREA which is now our mission
station. A messenger told her to “walk with God” and “learn
his Word”.
No church has ever existed there until now, and that vision was given to her
in 2008 Genono told us that ever since this vision, he has been waiting for
the
“God people” to show up.
FYI: His hut is about 70 yards/meters from where our new mud brick church
is being built. In July, when we saw this spot of land, it felt like home.
We now know that God ordained that spot long ago for this special move of His
power.
