GOD TO DO A “NEW THING” IN MOZAMBIQUE

THREE TIMES in 2 countries during this tour, the Lord gave me Isaiah 43:18-21 with emphasis on vs. 18-19. “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a NEW THING! Now it springs up, do you not perceive it?” Anytime the Lord shows you something 3 times, He means business!

TROPICAL PLANTS TO SAVE LIVES

Two years ago, the Lord revealed to me that He wanted us to “cut the 6 roots causing the orphan problem”. Those roots are:

1. AIDS
2. MALARIA
3. CHOLERA/DYSENTERY
4. TUBERCULOSIS
5. DEATH IN CHILDBIRTH
6. POVERTY CYCLE

DIRTY WATER can kill a child in 1 day & a mother in 2 days. Many of our 1,900 children were orphaned because their parents drank dirty water.

SOLUTIONS:

1. PUR, the water purification powder, is distributed weekly to the 450 grandmothers caring for the 1,900 children in our program.
2. WATER WELL DRILLING EQUIPMENT arrived in Mozambique in late December, 2007. WATER WELL DRILLING to begin as soon as the roads dry up from the rainy season.

BUT WHAT WERE GOD’S SOLUTIONS FOR THE OTHER PROBLEMS?

IN OCTOBER, 2007, I asked the Lord to give me a contact with Spanish or Portuguese speaking missionaries who would come help us. Spanish speaking people can learn Portuguese in about 60 days as the languages are similar.

A friend introduced me to Dr. Daniel Martin, an Argentinean doctor, who worked in Mozambique for the past 8 years. He introduced me to ALEJANDRO & SYLVIA FREIRE of Buenos Aires. In order to raise support for the Freire’s, their pastor requested that I come to
Argentina to speak in those churches.

I went to Buenos Aires in January, 2008, & Dr. Martin, handed me a book titled: MEDICIAL PLANTS OF THE TROPICS. It was a complete pharmacy of plants that would treat many of the diseases causing the orphan problem. I knew immediately that THIS was GOD’S SOLUTION!

WITH SEEDS & A TRAINING COURSE, WE COULD EQUIP THE LOCALS TO GROW THE MEDICINES THAT WOULD STOP MALARIA & DYSENTERY! (our 2 biggest killers of mothers & children)

AIDS patients could eat certain plants that would give them needed nutrients for a better quality of life. MALNOURISHED MOTHERS & BABIES, as well as TB patients could recover faster by adding certain plants to their diet.

GOD’S SOLUTIONS INCLUDES TRAINED HELPERS

Alejandro & Sylvia Freire fly to South Africa on April 8 so we can fly to Mozambique together to “BEGIN A NEW THING”. They have committed to 3 years of service. ALEJANDRO will be training up Bush Bikers for Christ & start a training course to strengthen our Pastors so they can plant more village churches very soon. He will assist our local youth pastor with the teenage boy’s sports evangelism program. A plumber & electrician by trade, he will also
assist Eric in training the water well drilling team. SYLVIA is a green thumb (natural gardener) & has volunteered to get the medicinal plant project started. She is also trained in foster
care & will be assisting with the pre-school, all children’s, & foster mother’s training programs.

BUSH BUNNY TIDBIT

1. SARA NELSON of Eagle Lake, TX, an 18 year old with nothing but missions on her heart, will be flying to Mozambique with me on April 7th to experience 90 days of career missions. Sara was trained in children’s ministry by working with her Mom, Pastor Ardith Nelson, of
the Eagle Lake Methodist church.
2. USA SPEAKING TOUR: It was a pleasure to meet so many new people who really have a heart for the orphans in Africa. I personally thank each of you for your love gifts that make it possible for our work to continue.

2008 WILL BE A BUSY & EXCITING YEAR WITH GOD’S “NEW THING” TAKING SHAPE.
MOZAMBIQUE WILL NEVER BE THE SAME, PTL!
